Alberto Fernando F. Braganza

Lieutenant General Alberto Fernando F. Braganza is a graduate of the UST Faculty of Engineering with a degree in BS Mechanical Engineering. During his days as a Thomasian, he served as the corps commander of the UST-ROTC Unit in 1968.

Gen Braganza was the former commander of the NCR Command of the Armed Forces of the Philippines. He served as platoon leader, company commander, battalion commander, brigade and division commanders of Infantry Units based in Mindanao during the height of the secessionist uprising and communist insurgency threat in Luzon. He was also the youngest Regional Director of the National Intelligence and Security Authority for the Southern Luzon Region. Gen. Braganza served as Chief of Staff of the Philippine Army. Moreover, he was also designated as the Senior Military Assistant and Aide-de-Camp to the President of the Republic of the Philippines.

Numerous awards have been given to Gen. Braganza for his notable military career and government service. Some of these include eight (8) distinguished service stars for commanding various units of major responsibility and the Parachutist Badges of the Royal Thai Army and the Indonesian Army. Gen. Braganza is the present commander of the Southern Command of the Armed Forces of the Philippines. He holds a Master's Degree in Public Administration.
