Dr. Reynaldo M. Javate

An acknowledged researcher and inventor, Dr. Reynaldo M. Javate finished his Bachelor of Science in General and Doctor of Medicine in the University of Santo Tomas. His internship and residency encompassed various hospitals such as the former Santo Tomas University Hospital and the University of the Philippines in Manila where he took up a Basic Course in Ophthalmology. At present, he is a board examiner in the Philippine Board of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Javate is the recipient of numerous awards in research and invention in Ophthalmology. Most notable are his awards in the "Dangal ng UST" one of which is the Javate DCR Electrodes for Endoscopic Radiofrequency Assisted Dacryocystorhinostomy. Dr. Javate is listed in the "Who's Who in the World Marqui's Who's Who List of Persons of Outstanding Achievements" in 1997. He was also a finalist in the 3rd Outstanding Research Health Award sponsored by the Philippine Council for Health Research and Development, Deparment of Science and Technology.

Dr. Javate has held numerous academic posts in the University of Santo Tomas and various medical associations. He has also published research and articles on Ophthalmology.
