Leonida Laki Vera

Ms. Leonida Laki Vera is currently the Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines to the Holy See and to the Sovereign Military Order of Malta. Ms. Vera was a recipient of the prestigious Dame of the Pontifical Order of St. Sylvester in 1994, Dame of the Order of St. Gregory the Great in 1998, and Dame Grand Cross of Magistral Grace in 2002.

In addition, Ms. Vera has also received several awards for her notable church and civic services some which are the 2002 Rogate Award in the service of the church and the Rogationist community and the 1996 Appreciation Award in the service of the Church society in the Philippines given by the Congregation of Dominican Sistersof St. Catherineof Siena.

Ms. Vera spent many years of active involvement in various religious projects, activities, and movements. She co-chaired the finance committee of the 4th World Meeting of Families held in Manila in January 2003. Ms. Vera graduated from the University of Santo Tomas with a degree in BS Commerce, Major in Accountancy in 1956. Some of these include eight (8) distinguished service stars for commanding various units of major responsibility and the Parachutist Badges of the Royal Thai Army and the Indonesian Army. Gen. Braganza is the present commander of the Southern Command of the Armed Forces of the Philippines. He holds a Master's Degree in Public Administration.
