Chairman Rosario N. Lopez

A loyal daughter of this 389-year-old University, Ms. Rosario Lopez began her Thomasian training as early as the secondary level. She later took her Associate in Arts, Bachelor of Laws and Master of Laws degrees at the same institution. She continued her academic pursuits in Spain, taking up Master of Arts in Spanish and Doctors of Laws at the Instituto Cultura Hispanica and Universidad de Madrid, respectively.

Ms. Lopez officially joined the ranks of respectable Thomasian lawyers when she passed the Bar Examination in 1956. Prior to establishing a name for herself in the government service, she first joined the private practice as Asst. Attorney of the Ramirez Law Office and was a faculty member of the Colleges of Law of Letran College and the University of the East. At the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), she started humbly as Legal Officer I, confidently climbing the organization ladder until she was appointed Chairman from January 1989 to March 1997. She currently holds the position as General Manager of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO).

She has authored a number of books and articles on social progress, the constitution, corporate practice and many others. An active member of various civic and religious organizations, Ms. Lopez has also been cited by some of the country's renowned academic, government, and non-government agencies.
