Dr. Miguel Noche

As faculty member and chair of the UST Faculty of Medicine and Surgery's (FMS) Department of Pediatrics, Dr. Miguel Noche introduced an organized management scheme which was integrated in the Faculty's curriculum.

Moved by the need to develop local allergy specialists in pediatrics, he initiated a consortium between UST and the Section of Allergy of the University of the Philippines-Philippine General Hospital (UP-PGH) Medical Center. The program adapted by this consortium aimed at honing pediatric allergists in various medical academic institutions and regions of the country.

A medical practitioner devoted to the nobility of his profession, Dr. Noche facilitated the development of continuing education programs for physicians, particularly those based in his hometown of Oriental Mindoro. Through this endeavor, depressed areas of this province saw an improvement in child healthcare practice.

Dr. Noche, a scholar and professional, authored a number of research works and publications on topics pertaining to his field of pediatrics. He has been regarded like-wise by various organizations in the country.
