Justice Alicia Lumboy Santos

Justice Alicia Santos has been practicing her profession for over forty years now. She started as a private law practitioner in 1961 immediately after graduating from the University of Santo Tomas. After three years, she was appointed as Election Registrar by the Commission on Elections which began her career in the government service. Her next government stints were as Presiding Judge from a Municipal Trial Court to the Regional Trial Court then as Executive Judge. Today, she is an Associate Justice at the Court of Appeals.

In her desire to be constantly updated in her field, she has attended several seminars. To name a few: seminars on Family Court Judges, Quality Management of Trial Courts, Emerging Trends in Law, Transnational Law, Law of the World and Anti-Illegal Recruitment Zonal Conference.

Justice Santos also finds time to be with her female colleagues through her affiliations with the Philippine Women Judges Association (PWJA), International Women Judges Association (IWJA), Women Lawyers Association of the Philippines and Soroptimist International. She is also a member of the Philippine Judges Association, Tarlac Integrated Bar of the Philippines Chapter, Rotary Club of Olongapo and the UST Faculty of Civil Law Alumni Association.

Her dedication to her profession has earned for her recognition nationally. She was cited as the Most Outstanding Judge of Central Luzon. She also received Certificates of Appreciation from the Boy Scouts of the Philippines, Rotary Club of Subic, Rotary Club of Olongapo City and Olongapo City Medical Association.
