Mr. Felicisimo R. Fajardo

Mr. Felicisimo Fajardo is a highly accomplished sportsman and coach. He has been a three-time member of the Philippine Team participating in the 1938 Olympics in Korea, 1940 in Tokyo, and 1948 in London.
Mr. Fajardo was coach and athletic director of the University of Santo Tomas from 1955 to 1965 and later coach and assis¬tant professor at the University of the Philippines until 1980.
His career as coach began when he was appointed as National coach for the Philippine contingent to the 1952 Olympics held in Finland. He then acted as national coach in the Asian Basketball Conference held in Formosa in 1963, Asian Basketball Conference held in Kuala Lumpur in 1965, Asian Games held in Bangkok in 1966, and the Philippine Youth Team in 1972. He also coached several commercial firms such as San Miguel Brewery, Caltex Philippines Inc., Grepa Life Insurance, Meralco, Presto (CFC), Filsyn and Mariwasa teams PBA.
His numerous awards and distinctions included - First Filipino Member of International Referees in Cambodia, 1955; Coach of the Year, 1952; H. Silva Award by the UST Alumni Association, 1973; Outstanding Alumnus Award by the Letran Alumni Association, 1979; 350th Foundation Anniversary awardee in the Field of Athletics, 1970; Special Award for Outstanding services as Philippine coach to the Philippine delegation in the 1948 and 1952 World Olympic Games; Scroll ofHonor awarded by the Philippine Olympic Committee in recognition of his distinguished participation in the 14th Olympic Games held in London; Scroll of Honor awarded by the Philippine Olympic Committee in recognition of his contribution to the cause of Philippine Sports as the Most Outstanding Athlete in Basketball during the years 1937 to 1950; Certificate of Enrollment awarded by the UST Alumni Sports Hall of Fame in recognition of his outstanding performance in national and international competitions and for other valuable contribution in motivating the sports development of UST in particular and the country in general.
