Prof. Emilio del Rosario

Emilio Del Rosario, a brilliant pianist and a distinguished teacher, graduated from the University of Santo Tomas with a Bachelor of Music degree (Magna cum laude) in 1953. He also holds a Master of Music and an Artist's Diploma. He has appeared in solo recitals, chamber music concerts, as soloists with orchestras, and as collaborating artist in lieder recitals throughout the United States and the Far East.

Some of the highlights of his performing career have been solo recitals in Carnegie Recital Hall, Steinway Hall in New York City, The National Gallery in Washington, D.C., The United Nations in New York City. He was also a soloist for the Manila Symphony Orchestra, the Cultural Center Symphony, and the Peabody Conservatory Orchestra, to name a few. When the Levestritt Award had to be won in a competition, Mr. Del Rosario was a finalist in what was then the most prestigious competition for piano.

He has been the recipient of numerous prizes, awards, grants and scholarships. Among which were the Steinway Prize, Concert Artists' Guild Recital Award (NYC), the Paul Thomas Prize at the Peabody Conservatory of Music and Outstanding Artist Award (Philippines). Most recently, he received the Distinguished Teacher Award from the National Foundation of the Arts.

In a recently launched book on the top piano Pedagogues in the USA, he was chosen as one of the top 15. He had been given the Outstanding Pedagogue Award by three USA Presidents, President Jimmy Carter, President Ronald Reagan and President Bill Clinton.
