Magdalena A. Villaba, Ph.D.

Magdalena A. Villaba, Ph.D. was former dean of the UST Graduate School from 1987 to 1996 and the UST Faculty of Arts and Letters from 1976 to 1987 of the University of Santo Tomas. A true blue Thomasian, she earned a bachelor's degree in Philosophy in 1957 from the University of Santo Tomas where she also completed Master of Arts in Philosophy degree in 1967 and her Doctor of Philosophy degree in 1976.

Mr. Ricardo Sy Po, Sr.

Mr. Ricardo Sy Po, Sr. is the founder of the Century Pacific Group of Companies, currently the largest canned food manufacturer in the Philippines that cater popular household brands such as Century Tuna, Argentina Corned Beef, 555 Sardines, Blue Bay Tuna, Angel Filled Milk, and Birch Tree Powedered Milk. The company is also presently Asia's leading exporter of canned tuna products to the world market. When he realized the great economic potential of the tuna industry, Po thought that the Philippines should bring to the world the richness of its natural resources.

Mr. Victor Emmanuel Carmelo D. Nadera, Jr.

Mr. Victor Emmanuel Carmelo D. Nadera, Jr. is an award-winning poet, fictionist, playwright, and essayist. Aside from a novel, he has published three collections, an epic, and a research on the use of poetry as therapy. He has pioneered poetry therapy in the Philippines as he combines his expertise in clinical psychology and poetic flair.

Jesus N. Morales III

Long before Taekwondo was classified as a competition sport in the Olympics, Jesus N. Morales III made his remarkable contribution to the sport by registering impressive feats in the Southeast Asian Taekwondo Championship in Singapore. He emerged as a gold medalist in the SEA Taekwondo Union Championship in 1990. From 1986 to 1991, Morales was an athlete of the Philippine Taekwondo Team. He consistently romped away with top honors in various sports events such as the Carlos Palanca, Jr.

Amelia Belandres-Miranda, M.D.

Amelia Belandres-Miranda, M.D. has taken on the noble path of conducting and organizing medical missions in far-flung areas in the Philippines after she earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Santo Tomas in 1958.

Miranda pioneered writing health columns entitled "Karunungang Pangkalusugan" in the family-owned Wakasan Comics Magazine in the early 1960s. She then established her EENT medical practice in Kalinga Apayao in 1969 where she regularly went to the province's barrios for several medical missions.

Ms. Beth G. Lui

Ms. Beth G. Lui is the Country Managing Director (CMD) of the Accenture Delivery Center in the Philippines. Since she took over the reins in 2002, Lui has helped lead and develop the practice in outsourcing and technology in the Philippines. Today, Accenture Philippines provides a full range of strategic front-end to back-end outsourcing services to over 60 international clients. This includes application outsourcing, infrastructure outsourcing, voice and non-voice business process outsourcing services.

Arch. Jose Siao Ling

Arch. Jose Siao Ling began his architectural career in Hong Kong after graduating from the University of Santo Tomas in 1980. Upon his return to the Philippines in 1983, he saw the completion of his first project under his own firm. This project was the five-storey Benson Apartelle in San Juan, Metro Manila.

Justice Jaime M. Lantin

Justice Jaime M. Lantin had been a public servant for 45 years, covering the period of 1956 to 2001. He started as a Legal Aide in Office of the Solicitor General where he later on became an Assistant Solicitor General. He joined the Judiciary where he became a Judge of the Court of First Instance (now Regional Trial Court) in Guimba, Nueva Ecija in 1974 and Branch 17 in Quezon City in 1976. Justice Lantin then became a Judge of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 87 in Quezon City in 1983.

Mr. Henry Joseph M. Herrera is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Sun Life of Canada (Philippines), Inc. Sun Life of Canada is the second largest life insurance company in the Philippines where it ranks as the 47th biggest company in terms of gross sales. He has occupied various roles within Sun Life of Canada (Philippines), Inc.
